Store bought vegan ranch can be hit or miss, but this homemade ranch dressing recipe knocks it out of the park!

The best part? It’s so easy to make. No blenders and no soaking required. Just put all of the ingredients into a jar with a lid, mix it up, and done. Easy peasy.

This ranch dressing is great on everything from veggies and salads, to pizza and vegan buffalo wings! It’s actually hard to think of a food that it wouldn’t be delicious on…

Ingredients

  • cup vegan mayo, I used Hellmann's Vegan Dressing Sandwich Spread and loved it!
  • ½ cup almond milk, unsweetened , just shy of 1/2 cup
  • 2 tsp white rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, fresh
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 ½ tsp dried dill
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • In a large jar or container with a lid, add the almond milk, vinegar, and lemon. Mix well. This will curdle into buttermilk quickly so don't be suprised. That's what we want!
After mixing, add in the mayo and whisk vigorously for about 60 seconds or until very smooth. Add in the remaining ingredients, then mix well to combine.
Taste and add more salt or pepper if desired.
Serve chilled and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
    Enjoy!

Notes

PLANT MILK
I recommend using unsweetened almond milk for this recipe if possible. Anything you have will work but I prefer almond for this. Soy has a slight aftertaste and oat milk is great too but it can be a little sweet. Both work just fine, but you may want to adjust the seasonings to balance the flavor.

VEGAN MAYO
Using a different vegan mayo?  All vegan mayos are created differently and since some are slightly thinner, some are tangier, some are sweeter, you’ll want to taste the dressing and adjust the spices to your liking 😊

BLENDER
You can do this in a blender if you prefer. Just make sure to add the wet ingredients first, then the spices so it doesn’t stick to the side of the blender.

  2. Nikki your photos and videos are beautiful!! Thank you so much for all of the love you put into everything. I tried the vegan ranch recipe and the taste is amazing!! However, it is very runny. I did use a little less than 1/2 cup of almond milk. Do you have any suggestions? It seriously tastes great!

Nikki thank you so so much for this recipe! Ever since going vegan months ago, I have been struggling to find any salad dressings I like, and I thought ranch was for sure out of the question with the awful store-bought varieties I had tried. I used to love salads before going vegan, so this was a huge bummer for me. But I just tried this ranch recipe and I am in love. I stopped in the middle of dinner to write this review because I am so happy and grateful. Your recipes are always great and I really appreciate you working hard to make delicious food so veganism can be so accessible.

Many thanks from this new vegan! <3 🙂

Best vegan ranch ever – I’ve made this recipe like 10 times for big parties, where almost everyone is non-vegan and it’s just a huge hit! So light, fresh and tangy. Plus it is so easy to make – highly recommend and I follow the recipe to a T!

This really is the best ranch ever…vegan or not! I just recently started a vegan lifestyle and I would’ve happily eaten this instead of store bought ranch before I started eating vegan, it’s so much better. Also love knowing exactly is in it, seems so much healthier!
